Cette dernière communication a été donnée par M. Jean-Marc Leblanc, Représentant de l’IRD au Burkina Faso. Il a souligné que les travaux des chercheurs sur les changements climatiques sont axés sur une recherche scientifique intégrée au développement durable. Dans ce cadre, les chercheurs visent à :
comprendre les mécanismes du climat et anticiper les changements tant au niveau global que régional ;
mesurer les impacts du changement climatique sur les écosystèmes et les conditions de vie des populations et proposer des solutions d’adaptation ;
maîtriser les facteurs du changement climatique et limiter ces changement
